Special

Last night I felt really touched. (Heh., how come it sounds so…Super Sanya Tiga for those dirty minded people, whooooshhhhh!)

For those who don’t know, since my term is about ten years old term, Super Sanya Tiga is when a comic character, uh, I think when Dragonball, has more advanced power, then he becomes white and the hair grows long all of the sudden. When he is angry and need to kick some ass, he becomes Super Sanya Tiga!!! So if my friend gets agitated I like to anticipate and comment that they’ll become Super Sanya Tiga(!!) etc etc, followed with Kameha-meha!! Kameha-kameha is a powerful move with this big fire ball. Regardless whichever, there is a big chance that you’ll be dead meat.
Btw, the information above might be less than 100% true, I probably mixed up the characters etc, ask somebody in their THIRTIES, they will know. : )
For Doraemon, Siaw Ting Tang, ask me, I KNOW.

Anyway, yesterday was a very long day for me. Because it was Monday, and because I burnt my weekend in class, and because we also had class after work on Monday. But the class had been interesting so far I’m okay with it.
Last night, I felt good because someone complimented me. Raise your hand if you don’t feel good with compliment. The hell with you, but I do. Especially it’s the compliment that carry good weight and with honest intention.

It’s actually a very simple compliment, but it also speaks through the eye of the beholder (apa coba) that it made me feel really surprised? Good? Me and one friend of mine during the journey home were talking about the assignment etc etc and we happened to talk about Chinese written language. As usual, most Indonesian Chinese at my generation are blind and deaf about Mandarin language because it was not allowed back then (other reasons involved we are lazy generation to learn), so knowing how to write own name is actually an accomplishment. I can write my own name, uh, could, because my Chinese writing is so ugly that my stroke can go anywhere as they please and it creates another meaning. Being haven’t written for a long time, I also forget how to write. But not defeated so fast, I have another clue; my name is Sui (for water) with another stroke and becomes Ice (Ping). Huehehehehehe…it’s barely human and obviously not feminine, but I love the name because it’s different, although I used to shy with it when I was little, because Ping is commonly used for male’s name, and during my childhood, there was a very famous movie involving a little boy called Siaw Ping Ping who was very ‘sue’ (sial) and tortured by his stepmother and so on, so on, so my classmate would pull my leg and said that I have male name. We can actually find a lot of male with Ping name, but they all have different meaning with mine. On my Junior High, I was even called Ice Princess or Ice Queen. Hey, sound cool! Right? Right? Hmmhh?

Anyway, I refused to write and told my friend he should be able to write it because it’s Sui with Stroke type of Ping. As everyone else, he was surprised. Of course before attacked, I was defending myself. Ping as in Ice is cool. I’m a very cold person. Because not only one, I have two Ice in my name, so I’m cold cold. Brr..
But instead, he turned very serious and said I’m not a cold person, I am very kind.
And it's a beautiful name.

(Come on, don't puke on me first..)

He is not a flowery type of person or chatterbox. If he was, the compliment would pass through my both ears because I won't take it seriously.

I certainly don’t jump over the head about how rare a person says my name is beautiful, indeed, I never heard of it. (There are certainly times when I watched drama when a girl introduced her name as whatever Rose, Lavender, Cherry, CocaCola etc and a guy says it’s a beautiful name, I would have prrrrt yayaayyayya kind of envy).
I’m more surprised with the background that somebody would say to me that I’m nice just because of very little thing I did I didn’t even realized that it’s special.

The story is he had been through hell of weekend combining works and classes, so he felt sick and I happened to know that because we coincidentally met on the way to the class Saturday and Sunday morning. He was quite in bad shape on Sunday that I dropped him an sms on Monday checking because I was aware that we still have class on Monday night. Just a gesture between friends.

But I do find the reality that gestures can mean a lot of things. It can touch a lot of people because maybe basic gesture is not really common again nowadays for some people and they are touched even from simple things that the person doing the gesture don’t realize it.

One other example is on last Christmas, I made little Ginger Bread doll with the scarf and gave one each to my colleagues. Because everyone including me received so many gifts during previous Christmas, I felt bad and swore that I also give out something the next year, so as unpractical as I am, I thought ten sewn ginger breads is not much work, I end up having to sacrifice my sleeping time while cursing stupid stupid stupid to myself and only able to give out the gifts on 26th. Surprise surprise, one of my new colleague specially went and bought something for me the day after, I don’t know whether he was new and don’t know about gifts tradition during Christmas, or he didn’t know that I made it for everyone, but I felt ashamed because not many of the dolls were made with ‘love’. : )

I remember one episode of Friends, I actually read and participate with some cyber friends in discussion about it, the one that Joey was successfully proved to Phoebe that there is no such thing like non-egoistic kindness. Realize it or not, people always egoistic when they do something good because it makes them feel good about themselves. I didn’t mean or hope for compliment but I know that if he dropped sick the day after I would feel guilty not asking about him because I happened to know his condition the last time I met him. So, yes, I’m being egoistic. Now with addition that my gesture is appreciated in a way, it makes me feel good and special and that’s another huge point for my ego.

It happened in the past and it will happen in the future. But should I feel bad about it or not, it all depends on me. I do have my time when I’m cursing and swearing when I obviously doing good for someone and they didn’t even appreciate it. Lack of basic gesture, sekrupnya ada yang kurang, etc etc. But many of the thing that surprised me comes from small little gesture that out of spontaneity for people I care about, new friends, strangers or even enemies, and the last three are actually more common that old friends. Surprise? The more I have candles on my birthday cake, the more I realize that many friends are your friends because they take you for granted. But the last three would act out of honesty (except when they are trying to get something from you of course), mostly, their compliment weight more. Look into their eyes, at thirty, we are scientifically mature enough to read honestly and pure intention through eyes. And last night, I know I got priceless one.

Maybe somebody won’t feel so good if they did their gesture in hoping for thank you and appreciation, because whatever altered, the concept is not the same. But doing something basic, and you get surprised, it’s really make you feel special.
:”) :”) :”)

Chimera Anyone?

Saturday Newspaper, I normally still carrying it around until Monday and so on, because the Newspaper is always so thick that if I only ready it during my travel from one place to another, I could never finish it. But it’s a favorite paper for people who are looking for jobs and other things in the classified. The classified part is so popular that sometimes newspaper stands sell the classified only. People don’t looking for ads would happy to get rid of it and people looking for job don’t really want to know what happen in the world.

Back to the newspaper, there is an interesting article about human monster. Apparently the author of the article said that currently in UK (I hope I don’t get the country wrong!) now, it’s allowed to create chimera by using three out of four ways. If I’m not wrong again, the banned method is to inject animal cell into human embryo, the rest of the three is to inject human cells or DNA into animals.
Chimera is some kind of monster (?!), confirmed it in Wikipedia;
Chimera (mythology), a monstrous creature made of the parts of multiple animals.
Chimera (genetics), a single animal organism with genetically distinct cells from two different zygotes.

So the test is for example to inject human cells into animals like pig etc. It even sounds like a movie to me, but can you imagine that it’s actually legalized to create human-pig and so on and so on? Huayah!
The article also mentioned the animal would look like the animal host, so it should be like ordinary pig, not like Miss Piggy or Jeff Goldblum in The Fly or remember Alien 4? But it doesn’t call experiment for nothing, how many percent that the thing would look more like a human, we don’t know. Imho, it indeed a very scary experiment there. Let’s imagine that human is actually almost nothing without brain. We can’t climb a tree fast. I know few people who can climb straight vertical wall but average people sucks even at climbing ladder. We can’t run fast, there are some torpedo people but normally we are outrun by a lot of animals. People normally can’t swing from tree to tree, and our saliva is not toxic, so if we bite, we can easily beaten by a whack of spatula or shoes on our forehead. And the teethmark, prrrt.. it’s nothing! We can’t fly, we can’t dive, we can’t survive in extreme environment without equipments. But with our brain, we outdo all the animals that can do every sort of things I mentioned, just because we have more advanced brain.

So, imagine a combination of animal and human roaming around us. I might be influenced by movies, oh yes I do, but imagine them being bad. Although pig is actually very intelligent, they might not sound too scary, although they do, and even the idea of were wolf is scary, how about insects and other animals with a lot of capabilities?
Insects is the strongest creature, the only thing that control them is size. The animal that can survive in most extreme cold, heat and condition? Insects. The animal that can produce thousands of offspring? Insects.
It’s a bit far from human pig that looks like pig that is created to support human being, which is what is allowed to do, but I’m just taking my part in talking crap here, and nothing is impossible toh..

Why they say the purpose is to support human being. Of course, except mad scientists, scientists are working to make a better life for human. The news says that in 50 years, all the fish would disappear from the sea, no seafood, no diving, no aquarium, I have my faith that they would come out with something to prevent that (I have to have that faith after I found out trying to abstain from seafood is very hard to do!).
Anyway, scientists found drugs and medications of many diseases in history, although they might have part in creating some new diseases and disasters too.
So, chimera is a plan, to help human in medic. Organ transplants, maybe cells, plasma transplants etc, chimera is considered as a better solution because it should be closer to human than transplant from animals. But imho, the case remains strong.
Pig + Human = Pig Human.
Pig Human à Human = X
X + Human = Y etc..

Would there be genetic revolutions, together with all the chemical and radiation etc etc that we are exposed to the more we are crawling to the future with more and more wars..?

I like a Sci-Fi movie not long ago called The Island, played by Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansen. Although it’s not new, I think the concept is really interesting.

Warning! # Movie Spoiler Below # :

So sometimes in the future, the main characters are actually human clone that themselves don’t realize that they are cloned. They are created as adult, whose their original people are the one who sponsors their being.

For example, I’m rich, and I want to live as long as I could. But of course, I want to enjoy it as being always young and healthy, so I invest on a company that offers me ‘my own spare parts’. If I have liver failure, I can have exactly the same liver that I have now, if I want new skin cell to keep me young, I can have my own etc etc.
I’m very sure if the concept is true, there would be a lot of takers, who doesn’t want to have a spare part? Even hand phone have spare battery, we also have a lot of spare part and gears for our stuff because we don’t want them to die or fail on us.

Back to the movies, these clients who order spare parts are normal people that don’t mean any harms, they don’t even know what they actually order. The company claims that they grow the ‘spare parts’ in vegetative condition, so there is no emotion involved, if I remember it correctly, they even claim to grow part of it, so not as a full body.
However, the fact is, they actually make the human clone from these sponsors and grow them in isolated area. So, these clones, exactly human, like the clients/sponsors, are injected with random memory of their past, all leading to the same story, that they are actually survivor of a disaster happened on earth that involves radiation etc, so the survivors all stay together in enclosed area, can’t have any contact with outside world because it’s dangerous. But things is not completely destroyed outside, there is a place called The Island, where it’s still free from radiation, and offer the sea, the sky and the open nature that those clones never experienced off. Once in a while somebody would win lucky draw to be shipped to live in The Island. When it happens, it’s actually the time for them to be harvested, because their sponsors need their parts, so, unknowingly it’s actually death for them.

The company is very smart here. They choose to grow the spare part as human clone because the organs keep having failures when it was grown in vegetative condition. (So if Pig Human fails, let’s add more human cells @ Human Pig? Ot let’s try it with..uhm..the fly?) By growing them as human, they have several advantages, the clones can basically take care of themselves and they can help running the center too, free labours. Their lifestyle are strict, they only can eat healthy food for obvious reason, they exercise regularly, they are not allowed to be close with one another, the reason, proximity is dangerous because the level of radiation in each person is unknown, smart right…? And they work helping the center to grow other clones without their knowledge. When the company has new client, the new clone would be introduced to the clone society as a person who have just been saved from outside world.

I think it’s a very very interesting and smart sci-fi. With news of clones, goats, dolly, donkey, dog's clones and some rumours of human clones flying around in our reality world, why is it not possible?
Anyway, in human history, movie or reality, human enjoys playing God. It’s known as addictive and attractive temptation, Wars, Murders, Violences, Animal Abuses etc, regardless the scales, everybody is guilty at least one point of a time by playing God, realize it or not.

The conclusion of this heavy post:

Naaaaaah. Don’t be paranoid like me.
I’m a just person who enjoy thinking of What If and What If rather than solving my own problems…
But FYI, Chimera is legalized somewhere in the globe........

Big Girl

Yesterday we had new kakis for lunch, one guy and two girls, that made us seven. Although sitting together, unconsciously the tables were separated as girl’s table and boy’s table, so I had chats with these two girls I’ve just known, but we clicked quite well.

Something familiar yet unfamiliar came to me, the typical girl’s conversation and the closeness girls normally share, like even though we were almost completely strangers, I was surprised that I have been shared secrets like old friend, that’s girl trustee I guess, and my friend was very touchy, but not in ‘that’ term lha hoy whoever who think of that!
I have come to think, that I feel unfamiliar yet familiar with the situation, because, gasp, now I realized that I haven’t been in girly situation since long, long, time, few years back.
I don’t have much friends staying here, my colleagues and lunch mates are almost all males all the time, my diving friends are almost all males, and the friends we hang out with, Hubby’s friends, are almost all males. So, I get used to it, and slowly I become detached from girly world.

Girls, I must say, have different way of friendship with guys. In primary school, I held hands with my girlfriends. Secondary and the rest of my life, I didn’t, it’s just too weird maybe, ha…But when they got together, girls share, their problem, their boyfriends, their future boyfriends, their future ex-boyfriends, movies, gossips, blab la bla. They can talk about everything and still find something in common. With guys, they talk about games, footballs, sports, works, and uh, girls but nothing too personal, unless with close friends.

My class also, four out of five girls got close because we went home together after every class. It’s just too funny for me to be in situation like a lot of sharing of feelings, emotions (even exam felt like the end of the world when it was talked by four girls! But it almost was, indeed), touchy, and the last time we went home together, they were browsing a lingerie magazines with all sexy pictures all over the place, and they commented on how this thing and that thing would suit who and who etc etc. I couldn’t contribute much so far, I only could nyengir kuda everytime I notice the girly situation, and I still tried to be more accommodate when they become touchy.

I guess it’s all coming back to me.

blink blink

But I’m not scared, GIRLS ROCK, and girls are scary when they are united. Dun mess up..

Festive..?

The time I need to wake up and get ready every morning determines my kind of breakfast. If I have enough time, I could have better breakfast and even enjoying morning paper. If I don’t, I have to settle down with crappy breakfast or stuff anything in my mouth while working, or have to keep coughing to camouflage the Godzilla sound from my stomach until lunch time.

Actually having breakfast in train can come in handy. But in here, it’s prohibited to eat or drink in the train, I guess for hygiene purposes. Otherwise it would be too cruel. Right?
However, I’ve seen it being practiced without compromising on environment quality; aka, it’s still clean although people are eating. In Sydney, during peak hour morning, everyone is having breakfast inside the train. They also have those comfortable seating they can flip facing front or back so they can chat with friends during breakfast time. Okay, maybe there is culture problem here. If Sydney-an eats sandwich for breakfast, Singaporean might settle for Laksa or Prata with curry sauce, so I can also see the government concern. For those who don’t know, Laksa is something you shouldn’t eat when you wear bright clothes.
I do remember in Indonesia, there is also no regulation to prohibit people from eating in Jabotabek train also. But there is a catch, big one; there is no room for eating. There is even no room for your leg once you happen to lift it up for a while. But my last update is about seven years ago, I guess now, you can still put down your leg if you don’t lift it too long. It’s an improvement leh….

Saturday Night, after my bloody inhuman exam, although very tired, we went to the Euro Fun Fair, something like portable festival and entertainment, it was set up near our house. We went to similar event before err…some years ago, and we had great time and spent good amount of money to play. So I thought I wanted to have some fun and we dropped by. Unlike back then, now we didn’t have to pay to go in, in negative way, there were many people because it’s free to look-look see-see. There were quite a numbers of rides, pretty carousel, big Ferris wheel, some ‘killing’ machine that go round round round and round, actually those high excitement rides, but for me, whack me any time or I’d rather ride roller coaster half a day that those machines that only good at manipulating round move. Huek…. Boi tahan.

There are also stalls with games and huge toys as present. But I don’t know why, it didn’t feel happening at all, unlike last time we went. The music was there, the crowd, hmm..too much idle crowd. Maybe the operator played a big part. Previous one, those, I suppose, UK people would go around and aggressively promoting their stalls and asked people to join them. The Werewolf exhibit even displayed the guy who will turn into Werewolf outside (before he turned into one of course), the promoting was so good and the feel of festival was there. We did pay to go in to see the Werewolf. He he, it was doubtfully true of course, but we did run to exit for our dear life..!
Now, there was no those ginger haired guys, there was no Werewolf, instead there was a Haunted House, but the guy who were at the stall was so bored that he sit motionlessly beside the scary monster on display and he even looked scarier than it.

So it was quite a disappointment, maybe it’s us who were too tired to have the mood, but honestly, we tried to generate it to no avail. We stood in front of the Bumper Cars, one of my favorite rides, but the will to play was not there. There were a lot of people playing, but it doesn’t look really fun because they were not mad, people should be mad and willing to crush each other to qualify to play bumper car. Instead, uhm..sorry, they looked too Singaporean, they are careful, easy to be scared and even frown when somebody bumped on their car. Hayah! Go to the street and play safe, the ride isn’t named as Bumper Car for nothing.

But one good thing to scribble on my note, foul mood and tired body also saves me from spending. : )

Kumailanggukumailanggu...

He he, tapi jarang kok, rahasia ya rahasia.

Kayak dulu gue dengerin bokap gue kalo lagi radio-an sama kapalnya, Papa Tenggo Kilo, Papa Tenggo Kilo, disini Juliet Kilo Tenggo.

“Ergh…U for… Ugly.”
“B….for Boy.”
“S…for…Sislen.” (maksudnya mau ngomong Swizerland).

A : Aduhai, asalamakatadragonhausdahaga
B : Berkotek, berendeng, begadul, bodong, bangkotan, blingsatan, bangsat, buset,
Kategori B kayaknya masuk favorit gue deh. He he he…
C : Cekrekan, caplang, congkak, congklak, cangkok
D : Dempet-dempetan, dedengkot
E : Emoh
F : Firasat, filsafat, falsafah, flash gordon
G : Gambrengan, gedabrus
H : Hoi, hei, hai, huru-hara, hoki-hokian
I : Ini sering dipake buat nama orang Bali, misalnya I Gede Amat
J : Jomblo, Jaka Sembung, Jelalatan
K : Kokotan, koplo, kepret, yang gak tau, kokotan itu biarpun kedengeran jorok, tapi gak lho, artinya ternyata cekrekan, ha..
L : Lemah, letih lesu, lunglai, loyoo, letoi
M : Merem melek
N : Nyap-nyapan, nyolot
O : Omprengan, om-om
P : Pacinko
Q : Quampret
T : Tutupan, tatapan, titipan, tetelan, totokan
W : Wakuncar
X : Xampret
Y : Yang dipertuan agung, yang diperbudak, yang didambakan, yang dijedot-jedotin
Z : Zubaidah, zakaria (hiii!!)

Jadi, siapa bilang bahasa ejaan kita kalah…Gue yakin kita masih bisa punya seribu satu versi, jadi laen kali kalo bokap gue pake radio..

- Pacinto Tatapan Koplo, Pacinto Tatapan Koplo, disini Jomblo Titipan Kokotan, Jomblo Titipan Kokotan….
Kumailanggukumailanggukatakarapaktakdulbegituganti!

- Misi pak, tolong kumailanggukumailanggukatakarapaktakdulbegituganti-nya dieja aja dong…

Sekolah!

Akhir minggu lalu gue secara resmi mulai sekolah lagi, sekolah part time selama kira-kira setahun, satu wiken tiap bulan.

Gile bener gue ampe bingung, seperti inikah cewek kalo lagi gosip? Soalnya temen-temen cewek gue kalaupun gosip kayaknya gak segitunya. Gue ngomong sama dia setengah jam kepala gue udah muter-muter karena over dosis, kayaknya dunia negatiffff banget.

Nah lho! Gak ada yang pake cincin kawin (biarpun gak berarti mereka belom merid) tapi kok tapi kok..?! Mereka malah gak percayaan ngeliat cincin gue, pake nanyain segala, huh..?!

Nah lho. Untungnya, Selasa Labour Day, jadi bisa molooooooor.
